Volunteer Opportunities
New to the area? New to the Temple? What better way to become part of the community that to volunteer some of your time. Listed below are our standing committees, along with a brief description. In addition, each event needs volunteers to be successful.

Administrative (help with office tasks and overall procedures )
Adult Education (helps plan and implement a board array of opportunities that help members pursue lifelong Jewish study and learning)
By-laws (to review and amend our existing By-Laws to better serve the needs of the congregation and comply with state and federal laws regarding non-profit organizations)
Caring Community (reaches out to TBH members in special need)
College Connection (keeps our college kids connected to TBH and Judaism)
Early Childhood Education (to bring to fruition Temple Beit HaYam’s dream of a Jewish pre-school and other early childhood programs)
House & Grounds ( oversee the care and maintenance of the building and grounds and help develop usage policies and procedures and hurricane preparation plans)
Finance (help develop budget and financial plans for Temple stability and growth )
Fundraising (help plan events large and small and develop new programs for giving)
Membership (reach out to the unaffiliated and existing members to ensure satisfaction and meaning in their relationship with the congregation)
Men’s Club (help create programs & events for TBH adult males)
Publicity (promote TBH and its programs internally & externally through creative design and print, including press releases)
Ritual (help develop and implement ritual policy and procedures, assign HHD honors)
Religious School Curriculum (help develop and implement curricula and policies)
Religious School PTA (create strong PTO and school fundraising opportunities)
Security (to help analyze and develop security strategies for the well-being of members and visitors to our facility)
Sisterhood (help create programs & events for Jewish females in our community )
Social Action (to help plan and implement programs of tikkun olam)
Youth Group (Senior or Junior) (to help strengthen and grow our youth’s involvement with and commitment to Judaism through special programs and events)
