Dear Temple Beit HaYam Families,

My name is Sam Friedman and I am the new Youth Director for BaHTY and BaHTY Jr. at Temple Beit HaYam. I am a recent graduate of Florida State University, where I received my Bachelors degree in Religious Studies. During my time at F.S.U., I had the privilege of serving as the T.A.S.T.Y. Youth Advisor for Temple Israel, and it was during this time that I discovered my passion for informal Jewish Education. I consistently meet individuals (some well into old age) who tell me that their involvement in youth group helped shape them, not just as Jews, but as human beings and that some of their best memories were with their friends at youth group.
 
As always we will be having the NFTY-STR events: Fall Kallah, Winter Regionals, Hatikvah Kallah, Spring Kallah and Camp Jenny. However, there are also several exciting events happening on the local level. We will be having lock-ins, dinners, carnivals and parties, and if there is anything that YOU would like to see take place let me know and I will see if we can fit it in.
 
I look forward to meeting all of you in the upcoming year, and I am excited for the many programs that we have in store.
