We at Temple Beit HaYam are committed to the quality education of all of our children. Our Jewish studies begin with Kindergarten and continue through Confirmation. Our Religious School meets on Sunday mornings for all grade levels, K – 6 & 8th, and additionally on Wednesday afternoons for students in third grade through Bar/Bat Mitzvah plus our 9th Grade Confirmation class. Our midweek program is devoted to study of Hebrew and prayer. We end each day of school as a community, as we come together in the sanctuary with Rabbi Kendall for short study and prayer service.
We offer an exciting, creative and stimulating learning experience for our students. Studies are supplemented with many hands on learning activities, art projects, and music led by our Cantorial soloist and our Education Director. The first Friday of each month is devoted to family services where the students from the religious school participate and lead the service. These services are preceded by Shabbat dinners, where all members of the Congregation are welcome, and are encouraged to attend.
We strive to build a religious education for children that cultivate a love and understanding of Jewish faith and heritage, based on a firm foundation of Jewish learning, experience, and role modeling. We consider all of our children precious and our staff is dedicated to imbuing our students with the necessary tools to become interested and caring members of our Jewish community. We hope to inspire our students to pursue a lifelong commitment to Jewish learning. Through an understanding of our history and traditions, we strive to develop within the children, a proud sense of belonging to the Jewish community and a love of our people and the state of Israel.
