We at Temple Beit HaYam are committed to the quality education of all our children. Our Jewish studies begin with Kindergarten and continue through Confirmation. The Religious School meets on Sunday mornings for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and additionally on Wednesday afternoons for students in third grade through Bar/Bat Mitzvah age. Our 9th Grade Confirmation class meets on Sunday mornings with Rabbi Goldwasser. The midweek program is devoted to the study of Hebrew and prayer. We end each day of school as a community, as we come together in the sanctuary with Rabbi Goldwasser and Cantor Beth for a short study and prayer service. We offer an exciting, creative and stimulating learning experience for our students. Studies are supplemented with many hands-on learning activities, art projects, and music led by our Cantorial Soloist and Education Director Beth Pennamacoor. Each grade’s class is featured at a Friday night Shabbat service during the school year (check the calendar for dates). Temple Beit HaYam strives to build a religious education for children that cultivates a love and understanding of Jewish faith and heritage, based on a firm foundation of Jewish learning, experience, and role modeling. We consider all of our children precious and our staff is dedicated to imbuing our students with the necessary tools to become interested and caring members of our Jewish community. We hope to inspire our students to pursue a lifelong commitment to Jewish learning through an understanding of our history and traditions. We strive to develop a proud sense of belonging to the Jewish community and a love of our people and the state of Israel.
